The objective of the Norwegian Securities Dealers Association’s authorisation scheme is to help maintain the general public’s trust in investment firms by, among other things, ensuring that the employees have satisfactory knowledge of and comply with the regulations governing the firms’ and employees’ activities. As of the 31st of December 2008, a total of around 4.350 people have been authorised since the authorisation scheme started in the autumn of 1996.
